The Van Rensselaer Chapter, NSDAR, was organized October 4, 2003, in Troy, New York. The Van Rensselaer name was taken from Stephen Van Rensselaer, last of the Dutch patroons, who founded Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy.

Van Rensselaer Chapter currently has 37 members and usually meets at 10 am on the 2nd Saturday of the month from March to December.
