The Nihanawate Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in 1924, in Potsdam, New York, and is currently recruiting new members.  

On June 7, 2014, the chapter celebrated is 90th birthday at The Lobster House in Norwood, NY. DAR District Director, Betty while and NY State Regent Marthat Crapser joined the chapter members to celebrate this historical occasion.

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.
