The Mary Jemison Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on November 14, 1925, in Warsaw, New York. Mary Jemison, "The White Women of the Genesee," was taken captive as a young girl on April 15, 1758, by the Iroquois. She stayed with them, raised a family, and came to the Genesee Valley where land was given to her. She had a long life and has a book written about her life experiences.
The Mary Jemison Chapter currently has 48 members. Meetings take place on the last Friday of every month, September through November and April through August.
