Henderson - General Nicholas Herkimer Chapter

Henderson Chapter, was oranized August 31, 1911, and the first regular meeting was held September 28, 1911, in the home of Mrs. John Paine, Jordanville, New York. The charter was granted October 12, 1912, and Mrs. Charles W. Crim was appointed regent by the New York State Regent.

General Nicholas Herkimer Chapter, was organized October 28, 1896, at the home of Mrs. William Prescott, Herkimer, New York. The charter was granted January 26, 1897. Mrs. Prescott served as the first regent.

On June 26, 2006, the two chapters were merged at a National Board meeting in Washington D.C. The new name of Henderson-General Nicholas Herkimer Chapter, NSDAR, became effective as of October 7, 2006.  

We have Chapter members residening as far away as Nebraska, Illinois, and Massachusetts. However, most members live within a thrity mile radius of Jordanville, New York. Meetings are held monthly from April through October, with recess during the winter months.
