DAR Project Patriot
Shatemuc Chapter has participated in DAR Project Patriot by sending funds to the National Society in support of this committee.  The committee provides injured soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with a backpack of clothing and supplies, to help them transition from the battlefield to the hospital.  We also provide greeting cards and phone cards to the soldiers.

Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony
Each June, Shatemuc Chapter sponsors a flag retirement ceremony at the Stony Point Battlefield.  Hundreds of worn flags have been retired at these ceremonies.  The ceremony is accompanied by refreshments, honor guards, and gun salutes.

Memorial Day Parades
Shatemuc members march in Stony Point's annual Memorial Day Parade and our members wear colonial costumes.

C.A.R.
Shatemuc Chapter sponsors the Daniel Onderdonk Chapter of the Children of the American Revolution.  Fun and educational activities teach young patriots about their Revolutionary ancestors and foster a love of country.

Conservation
Shatemuc regularly plants trees and ornamental shrubs.  We also educate our members in the importance of recycling and reusing to help the environment.

DAR Service for Veterans
Shatemuc Chapter regularly provides clothing, toiletries, books, DVDs, lap robes, and other items to our veterans at both the Montrose and Castle Point Veterans Hospitals. We also send them special holiday cards and gifts.

DAR Schools
Shatemuc Chapter collects Campbell's soup labels for our DAR Schools.  These labels are used by the schools to purchase computers, vans, and other equipment.

Naturalization of New Citizens
Shatemuc Chapter is present at every naturalization ceremony held at the Rockland County Court House.  Our members give out flags, pins, and informational booklets to each new citizen.
